Comic actor, James Olanrewaju Omiyinka (a.k.a) Baba Ijesa has revealed the reason he delved into comedy industry and why he chose Ijesha language as his style of acting. The thespian who got into acting many years ago exclusively explained this to Yorubamoviegist.com when we asked him what prompted his pattern of acting. According to him, “I will attribute that to the Nigerian mentality. I am not Baba Ijesha, I went into Ijesha character because of a local champion who was claiming to be wise before he was blackmailed by area boys at his first visit to Lagos, and we titled the film Eko Wejele.
He was young but the language was funny before boys took advantage of him. After the movie, people requested for more and that was all. I didn’t start with comedy, I started as a warrior, I and Fadayi don’t see eye to eye in movies, I play crime roles as well before I delved into comedy. The old generation can testify to that”.
